Silmukka
Silmukka means “loop” in Finnish. The ring ends in two rounded forms: one smooth and polished, the other textured so it gives off a soft shimmer when the light hits it. Side by side, the two surfaces make you look twice.
The shape comes from nature and the forest, and it took a long route to get here. It started as a piece of wax, sculpted by hand and cast in silver. That silver ring was cleaned and finished by hand, then scanned and reshaped in 3D design software. From the digital model we 3D printed a new wax model, cast it in silver again, and finished it by hand once more. So the form went from wax to silver, through the computer, and back into handcraft.
Recycled sterling silver (925).
Each piece is finished by hand, so there are small differences between them, and that’s what makes every ring its own. The ring you receive may also look slightly different from the photo, for example in the surface details.
